Richtoy is delighted to present a true piece of British automotive history, a fantastic 1971 MGB Roadster Sport 1.8 complimented perfectly in metallic Estoril Blue paintwork with Cream Full leather/ Vinyl interior. This UK car was originally registered in 1971 and then re-registered in 2003 after a full restoration still keeping its Car Tax and MOT exemption. A complete new heritage body shell which included all closures was used and is believed to have cost around £28,000. The full work was carried out by California Classics (Hull) Ltd and independently inspected by – M R Reed an Independent Vehicle Consulting Engineer once completed. The last owner has owned the vehicle for 7 years, maintaining its outstanding condition!
BODYWORK – A full restoration of the car took place in 2003 and the car was waxoyl injected from Day 1. Continuously maintained over the many years since, all of which the previous owner has documented since taking ownership in 2013. Many other extras have been added to the vehicle, such as a Rear Wind Deflector and stainless steel window frames.
ENGINE/GEARBOX AND CHASSIS - The 1798cc (1.8) engine is a remanufactured Ivor Searle unit. The Gearbox overdrive and rear axle were also rebuilt with new brakes and suspension.
INTERIOR – The car has full cream Leather/ Vinyl seats with seatbelts, all electrics work as they should with no expense being spared on this car over the years. This MG interior design stands out by far from others and the car is protected by a ‘Clifford Concept 300’ alarm and immobiliser.
